Forest of Collaboration: a reflective day for North Yorkshire climate groups

Climate action groups from across North Yorkshire are invited to take part in Forest of Collaboration, a free reflective away day taking place at Little Seed Field near Ripon on Friday 11 September 2026.

Organised by Community First Yorkshire’s Village Green project and facilitated by JK McQuinn from Where the Mind Grows, the event will offer groups the opportunity to step back from their day-to-day work, reflect on their achievements and connect with others taking climate action across the county.

The day will take place in a peaceful natural setting and will be shaped around the experiences and priorities of those attending. Activities will encourage participants to share what is working, explore new ideas and build supportive connections with other groups.

Participants will be invited to think of the climate action community as a forest, with each group forming its own small ecosystem while also contributing to something bigger. The day is not about how much people know, but about what can emerge when groups come together to reflect, listen and learn, with nature helping to guide the experience.

The event is designed to leave participants with renewed hope, fresh insight and practical ideas they can take back to their communities.
